No post last week, because I actually did no art at all...I don't wanna talk about it. I did do some drawing this week....Sure its only one piece (ha) and that was done this evening... BUT THATS NOT IMPORTANT!!
So here some more character design. Her name is Arleen, and she was done for a character design challenge, with the prompt being Venetian Carnival, and she was inspired by the traditional Carnevale character, Arlecchino. She also some how ended up looking like a retro elf. Huh, well i think she's cute.
And um..thats all folks til next week
As promised (see, I'm good) This Week In Art has returned to its weekly schedule.
As Corinne from Threadbanger would say, "let's get started shall we?'
So...this drawing of Tabitha technically shouldn't be in this post, as it was done before the 8th.. but I did it after my last post..so it's here now. This is a redraw of one of the poses from last post, but now with line art and colour! Colours done with Copics and Promarkers.
Next up we have a series of cat drawings, one (titled Cat!) of a cats face, and the second (Cats! Cats! Cats!) a pattern made up of three cat poses. You can get these as prints and other products here (Cat!) and here (Cats! Cats! Cats!) if you so desire,.
So, I may have already designed my birthday cake for my 21st in May. Can you guess which characters this cake is portraying?
And lastly.. we have some random small copic doodles. Which is your favourite. I quite like the flower.
Thats all for this week.
Classic Jess, you already fell behind in this endeavour after a single week. To be fair to myself, I had a few good reasons. I was away for one week, then I was busy preparing for, then selling at the Festival of The Photocopier Zine Fair, then after that...okay then I was just forgetful and lazy, I'll admit it. Anyway, I hopefully will not get that far behind again! Maybe. ON WITH THE ART!!!!!!!!
By the request of Rebecca in the comments last time, Here is a coloured Seductive Owl. I did this while I was away, so I had limited art supplies on me. In fact the colouring of the Owl was done by scribbling with my brush pen on my finger, then rubbing on the paper. It was fun..but also very tedious.
Also while I was away, I managed to do a few little character concept doodles for a Princess and the Pea adaption idea I have.
A friend of mine requested this drawing of his girlfriend and himself for a Valentine's Day gift.
A work in progress of a one marker challenge piece, featuring juice drinking Batman, because this is the kind of stuff that I find funny. Stop judging me. I SAID STOP!!
A few weeks back I attended a character design class run by Tul Suwannakit (http://www.tullsuwannakit.net/). During that class, I designed this fairy, Tabitha Tweedle. Who I now love, despite realising a few days later that she looks like a Marge Simpson reimagining. THE COLOUR SCHEME WORKS FOR A REASON OK!! .
AND FINALLY, as I was really happy with how Tabitha turned out, the day following the class I doodles some more poses for her. SHES ADORABLE AND I LOVE HER OK!?
And this concludes This Week (or in this case weeks) in Art. Due to the timing of this post, I'm not going to post this Wednesday, but This Week In Art will return to it's regular scheduling next Wednesday!
JESS OUT! PEACE!
I've got a whole lot of pointless trivia up in my brain, including the Flash's middle name. You are very likely to find some area of me covered in art supplies such as paint, marker or pencil. Known for getting Milo on my nose and being way into Robin
