So I'm just going to come out and say it. This is my favourite issue so far. Remember in the review for the last issue when I said something big was going to happen? It happened. Wierd shiz is going on on New York. I'm talking nuclear weapons with no radiation, time stoping and a bunch of some serious comic book logic, that really doesn't make any sense. Like at all. Despite the science-that-only-works-in-comics, I still really enjoyed this issue. It does have a small Raven and Beast Boy team up, so I might be biased. Oh well. Also Kenneth Rocafort is back on the art for this issue, at its really pretty. And as usual, Dan Brown's colours are gorgeous. Too bad they still can't make Raven's New 52 costume bearable. What was wrong with the costume she had? *sigh*. Anyway, back on track. Power Girl debuts her costume (which I love), and sort of get a bit of a shock when the Titans arrive at the destruction at S.T.A.R Labs. And it sort of only gets worse. But.... I don't want to be too spoilery. As I send before, really good issue, and if you are already reading the series, you should pick this instalment up, which I'm sure you are doing anyway. Spoilers under the cut.
Who is this mysterious new Thor? Well the Odinson is on a mission to find out! Seriously he has a list of suspects. Meanwhile the All-father is pissed that a woman has taken his son's hammer and running around being awesome. Plus Thor is fighting the Absorbing Man, who is pretty angry that she exists and her and Freyja have a nice little chat on the moon. This issue was really cool and probably my favourite so far. Sidenote: I wasn't able to finish my review of issue four before this issue was released, hence no review for that, and I was away for a month during the time issue three was released. Sorry about that. Anyway, back to the comic. We have a different artist on this issue by the name of Jorge Molina. Even though it's a different artist, I still really liked the art, especially the strong lines, that just kind of my thing. I get the feeling that Jason Aaron is really enjoy's keeping Thor's identity from us. C'mon dude, it's been five issues!!! Thought there is a few storylines going on, the comic flows together nicely, and the separate stories don't feel jarring. Good job to all!! Spoilers under the cut.
This would of been written earlier, but I am a terrible, terrible fangirl and didn't even know this was released last week. I am the worst! But lets focus shall we!
Ms Marvel is definitely my favourite ongoing series right now, every issue is fantastic and this issue is no exception. Wrapping up the Generation Why arc, it definitely does it well. It's Ms Marvel vs The Inventor, with some help of course, once Kamala learns an important lesson about teamwork and that you can't alway handle everything on your own. Especially saving the world, or at least the youth of New Jersey. I love how G. Willow Wilson mixes humour, action and some pretty profound stuff from Kamala's mouth. There is legit life lessons in this series. Mix in some gorgeous art by Adrian Alphona, with fantastic colours by Ian Herring, and you get a great comic. Seriously, if you aren't reading this series yet, please do yourself a favour and read it! Is my fangirl showing?? Spoilers under the cut
I love this series. Seriously one of my favourite new series. Like Teen Titans, I binged read (not that there was a lot :)) the previous issues while I was away, had to do something to entertain me on the aeroplane. `This series was kind of a wildcard for me, I had no idea what it was about, just saw issue 3 on the DC app and decided to give the series a shot. No regrets. So full of the supernatural and so full of mystery, which is a genre I don't delve into very often, if at all. Not since my Nancy Drew and The Babysitters Club Mysteries days. The main characters in this series are amazing. Olive Silverlock is a sophomore with a secret and Maps is an adorable ball of energy. Maps is so great. I just really love Maps ok!. The comic is really well written (Becky Cloonan and Brenden Fletcher) and I'm just know one day I'm going to reread it after big reveals, seeing all the clues I've missed (then feel really foolish for not seeing it!). Is the North Hall really haunted? What happened to Olive last Summer? What's Millie Jane Cobblepot got to do with anything? So many questions, and like all good mysteries, at this point, not a lot of answers. Did I mention how great Karl Kerschl's art is? It's so cute and all around aesthetically pleasing to look at. It has a certain charm to it, and has a look of a animated cartoon. I love it a lot. The colouaring by Msassyk and Serge LaPointe complements it well. This particular issue we do get some answers, but also more questions. The secret of the ghost is revealed (or is it?), the mysterious blonde gets a name, and Olive and Pomeline some what bonding. This issue is very enjoyable, and obviously, if you're already reading the series, I recommend continuing. Haven't started yet? DO IT!!! Spoilers under the cut.
Adding another member to a team always shakes things up doesn't it? Teen Titans #6 continues the story started in the last issue, in which a bunch of teens do drugs that give them superpowers, and decided to create havoc. because, thats what you do. Plus, we got a small glimpse of the new Power Girl. We get a much better look at her in this issue. Even though she's just been introduced, I've taken quite a liking to Tanya Spears. I know thats she's already been in Worlds Finest, but I haven't read that series yet (Note to self: get on that) She clearly brings a new dynamic to the Titans and has very clear opinions on what the Titans should be doing instead of what they are doing, which ticks Tim Drake off. Turns out Wonder Girl Cassie Sandsmark agrees with her, and then they ditch the others. Meanwhile, Beast Boy is undercover spying on Manchester Black, until he leaves, so he ends up snooping around S.T.A.R Labs. Sidenote, I'm getting some major Dr Wells level shadyness vibes from Manchester Black, I just don't trust him. Overall, I quite enjoyed this issue. Its clearly setting up for something big, and honestly I'm kind of excited. This is actually the first Teen Titans series I've ever read. If you are wondering where the review for 1-5 are, well I only discovered this series last month, and binge read it over my holiday, hence the lack of ANY review. Too busy enjoying WA. As for my opinion of the series as a whole, I'm really liking it. It's pretty fun, yet intriguing, and you feel like everything is eventually lead to something BIG. Will that actually happen? Well, only time will tell. I hope it does, because if it doesn't I'll be pretty disappointed. Anyway, more spoilery discussion under the cut.
Welcome to my first review! At least in blog form. I've decided to use this blog to do comic reviews, and up first is Thor #2 (2014) If you would like to know my basic thoughts on Thor #1, watch my October Comic Wrap Up on Youtube. Let us begin. So in Thor #1 we find out that our original Thor is no longer worthy to hold Mjolnir, and at the end of the issue a mystery woman takes his place. Thor #2 is the first issue in which we really get to our new Thor in action, since she only appears right at the end of the first issue. Basically the problem in this issue is Frost Giants.
Well, it's been awhile hasn't it! Sorry for going off the radar unannounced, but as school has got the best of me :(. But do not panic my friends! GlejeComics isn't going anywhere!
You may have noticed that the website has a completely new design! I love this Weebly theme and who ever the designer is, I congratulate you on a job well done. I think its absolutely beautiful. Its a lot brighter than the old theme. Not only has the site got a new layout, Kiki Komics, Adventures and Hogwarts and Beyond and Kurtis' Guide to Life have all been updated with new headers. Be on the look out for some new comics and animations, and tell me in the comments what you think about the update.
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. You may or may not of heard of it. It aimed at young girls, around 5 up (I think). So why am I, a teenage girl, watching and liking, no, loving it? Not to mention that I'm not the only teenager liking it. Heck, people older than me love it, women and men (we call ourselves bronies and/or pegasisters, again may or may not of heard of them). So why is it so popular? Well I can't speak for everyone, but here is my reasons for being a fan.
Hey hey everyone, it's been awhile! Anyway I thought I would share my answers to the Disney tag that I did with my friend (I'm still editing the video. Enjoy. Also, I am including Pixar movies in this Tag.
1. What is your favorite Disney Movie?
Tangled, I can not tell you enough how much I love this movie.
Tangled, Brave, The Princess and The Frog, Aladdin and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time
Ummm.... probably Cars.
Since there is a question regarding princess and princes later on, I'm not including them in this question. So I am going to say Dash from the Incrediables because I find him really funny and adorable.
Flynn/Eugine is hilarious. So is Prince Charming in the third Cinderella. I also like Aladdin and Naveen. Merida's little brothers are also super funny, though I'm not sure I'd they are official Disney Princes. But I adore them anyway.
Rapunze, becaus of her artistic talents also Belle because of her love for books, I'm like a combination of the two. Now if only there was a princess who is on the Internet alot and wears jeans....
Lady Tremaine, because she is the only one that I can remember from the top of my head that doesn't die in the end. Well also Randall and the inspector for Toy story 2, but he ends up as that girls doll, so I don't want to be him. Randalls creepy, so yeah Lady Tremaine.
A mix of Belle and Mother Gothel.
I See The Light
When Will My Life Begin...and Part of your World, also Go The Distance and Almost There.
When You Wish Upon A Star
Mother Knows Best and Poor Unfortuate Souls. Oh and Friends on the Other Side. Be Prepared is also awesome.
I See The Light. Also the Kingdom Dance in Tangled, that music rocked.
I don't think any did, from memory
I have no idea, but probably Aladdin since my nanna did have it on video and we watched it a lot
Well, that's all, feel free to do this yourself and plead comment below..
I've got a whole lot of pointless trivia up in my brain, including the Flash's middle name. You are very likely to find some area of me covered in art supplies such as paint, marker or pencil. Known for getting Milo on my nose and being way into Robin
